Tickets went on sale in 1989, and retailers sold more than $5 million in instant game tickets by the end of the first day. Kentucky added Powerball in 1992 and Mega Millions in 2010.
Since 1989, the Kentucky Lottery has raised billions of dollars for the state's general fund as well as tuition grants and scholarships.
